Obituary of Mary Lou Dannels

Mary Louise Dannels, 77, of Grove, OK formerly of Coffeyville and Angola, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016, at her daughter's home where she lived for the last year. She was born on March 3, 1939, at Paden, OK to Jesse Martin and Ellen Lee (Hamilton) Moody. Mary Lou grew up and attended school in Oklahoma. On September 27, 1962 she married Earl Eugene Dannels at Bartlesville, OK. Following their marriage they lived in South Coffeyville, OK until 1965 when they moved to Angola, KS where they made their home for 49 years before moving to Coffeyville. Her husband preceded her in death on February 4, 2012. Mary Lou loved serving as an Evangelist, spreading the word at many churches in Kansas and Oklahoma. She was a member of Amazing Grace Ministries in Coffeyville. Survivors include two daughters, Nita Hagebusch of Grove, OK, and Norma Gilfillan of Coffeyville; one brother, Darrell Moody of Winslow, AR; one sister Jessie Stanley of Spiro, OK; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Barbara "Barbie" Alston; one son, James Earl Dannels; four brothers and two sisters. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016, at Amazing Grace Ministries, 501 East 9th St., Coffeyville, KS 67337. Burial will be in the Richland Cemetery north of Angola, KS. Friends may call on Friday, November 25th from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
