Obituary of Sandra Kay Harreld

Sandra "Sandy" Kay Harreld, 75, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at her home. Sandra was born on January 21, 1941 in Enid, Oklahoma to Ralph and Betty (Kelly) Shriver. She was the oldest of three children; she had a younger sister, Sharon Barber and husband, Terry and a younger brother, Michael Everett Shriver. She grew up in Enid where she graduated high school. Sandra earned a degree at Business College. She met and married Robert Neal in Enid, Oklahoma. Of that union their daughter, Virginia was born. The couple later divorced. On February 25, 1987 she married the love of her life, Anderson Gates Harreld at the First United Methodist Church in Coffeyville, Kansas. The couple made Coffeyville their home. Sandra worked as a branch manager for Credit Thrift for several years at various locations. She then worked for Beneficial Finance as a branch manager in the Coffeyville and Bartlesville branches. Most will remember her for the time she spent driving a transportation bus for SEKAP in Coffeyville. She was a dedicated and faithful member of the Coffeyville First United Methodist Church. She loved serving and helping others and spent much of her free time at church activities. Sandra was a wonderful cook who enjoyed preparing food and baking for the church and for her family. Surviving to honor her memory is her daughter, Virginia "Virg" Davis and husband, Donnie of Norman, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Miranda Schambron of Minco, Oklahoma and Spencer Schambron of Taft, Oklahoma; great grandchildren, Serenity Grace Schambron and Lily Marie Schambron. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Betty and by her husband, Gates Harreld on June 4, 2009. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Coffeyville. Pastor Nicole Schwartz-Eck will officiate. Interment will be that afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Norman, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 2, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist Church in Coffeyville or the National Stroke Association; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W.
