Barbara L. Beaty, 83, a longtime Coffeyville resident passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017, at Oak Pointe Assisted Living in Neosho, MO. She was born on July 28, 1933, near Welch in Craig County, OK to Ray and Lois (Vicory) Stice. Barbara grew up and attended school in the Welch area graduating from Welch High School. On October 1, 1952, she was united in marriage to the love of her life Lowel E. Beaty at Bentonville, AR. Following their marriage they lived in several different areas of the United States while her husband served in the U.S. Air Force. After his discharge they lived in Wichita until moving to Coffeyville in 1956. Her husband preceded her in death on February 24, 1993, following his death Barbara continued making her home in Coffeyville until moving to Neosho in July 2016, to be closer to her daughter. Barbara was a member of Grace Fellowship, and a longtime member of the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. She was also active in Coffeyville Cultural Arts and an avid Coffeyville Community College Red Raven fan. She was a long time JC Penney's associate retiring in 1999. She enjoyed playing cards and games, reading, doing arts and crafts, but most of all loved spending time with her family. Survivors include two daughters, Colleen Holt and husband John R. of Neosho, MO, and Ronda Wery and husband Dale of Barrington, IL; one brother, Kenneth Stice and wife Doris of Parsons, KS; one sister, Joan Withrow of Oxford, MS; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one daughter Kristi Sullivan on December 22, 1993. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2017, at Grace Fellowship in Coffeyville with Pastor Doug Mund officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service on Friday from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the church. Burial will be in the Walker Cemetery northwest of Welch, OK. Friends may call on Thursday, February 23, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the CRMC Auxiliary; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
