Obituary of Larry Gene Carr

Larry Gene Carr, 75, of Chetopa, Kansas passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. Larry was born on June 8, 1941 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Lawrence and Marie (Clayton) Carr. He graduated from High School before serving his country in the United States Airforce. After he was honorably discharged he became a barber. He ran his own barber shop in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He enjoyed cars and working on them; he also enjoyed learning and going to school. Larry was united in marriage to Vicki Smith. Of that union two children were born. The couple later divorced. Surviving to honor his memory are his children, Lorie A. Caulkins and husband, Martin Jay of Coffeyville, Kansas, Darin G. Carr and wife, Dawn of Coffeyville, Kansas; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Carr; father and step mother, Lawrence and Erma Carr and by his brother, Ronald Carr. Following Larry's wishes cremation has taken place and a private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas.
