Obituary of Debra Ann Lieswald

Debra Ann Lieswald, 63, of Coffeyville, KS passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. She was born on January 25, 1954, in Hutchinson, KS to Paul and Irma (Richardson) Decker. Debra attended school in Hutchinson, KS, Battle Creek, NE, and graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School in Lincoln, NE. After graduating from high school, she attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, and later completed Barber College in Lincoln. On July 23, 1971, she was united in marriage to Kirk Lieswald in Independence, KS. Following their marriage, they lived in Coffeyville, Lincoln, NE, North Platte, NE before moving back to Coffeyville in 1987. After moving to Coffeyville, she was employed as an instructor at SEK Vo-Tech school and in the Admissions Office at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. Debra loved being outdoors, growing her flowers and reading, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband, Kirk Lieswald of the home; her daughter, Kyra Frank and husband Kyle of Amidon, ND; four grandchildren, Michael Frank, Avery Frank, Hannah Frank and Bryson Frank all of Amidon, ND; her father and step-mother, Paul and Dorothy Decker of Coffeyville; two brothers Rick Decker and wife Joyce of Castle Rock, CO, and Don Decker of Coffeyville; three sisters, Paula Juinta and husband Mike of Arvada, CO, Theresa Wells and husband Tim of Coffeyville, and Julie Schnoor of Coffeyville, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Irma Decker, and one brother Scott Decker. A Memorial Service celebrating Debra's life will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2017 at Grace Fellowship, 2455 Woodland Ave. in Coffeyville with Pastor Doug Mund officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Lutheran Cemetery at Meadow Grove, NE. Friends may sign the register book on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials to the Johnson Center for Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W.
