Jerry Wiles, 79, of Coffeyville was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, after a brief illness. Jerry was born in Truman, Arkansas on May 20, 1937, to William Earl and Imogene (Segraves) Wiles. His family moved to Coffeyville, Kansas when he was 3. They moved back to Truman to stay with family while his father served in WWII. At the age of 10, the family moved back to Coffeyville where he spent the rest of his life. He attended McFarland Grade School (McKinley was being rebuilt), Roosevelt Junior High, and graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School in 1955. He attended Coffeyville Community Junior College. On June 17, 1956 he married the love of his life, Phyllis Ann Argyle. They were married for sixty years. He was a charter member of Coffeyville Bible Church where he was very active most of his life. Jerry worked in the automotive industry all of his adult life. He was a salesman for Argyle Motor Company, Fina and Texaco gas stations. He was also the shop manager for Roy Boyer Motors and later Orville Staton, Olds, Pontiac and Cadillac Agency. Jerry with his wife Phyllis opened their own auto repair shop, J/P Auto in 1972 and operated until his retirement. Jerry continued to work on autos from his home shop. Jerry loved to fish, but above all loved his family and attended school activities, sports, cattle shows, and dance recitals that all of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were a part of. Jerry is survived by his wife, Phyllis of the home; son, Tim (Julie) Wiles; daughter, LeAnn Rexwinkle all of Coffeyville, Kansas; grandchildren, Eric (Kari) Wiles of Coffeyville, Kansas, Sarah (Matt) Zschoche of Kansas City, Missouri, Leo (Janna) Rexwinkle of Gibson City, Illinois, Lynn (Nathan) Dickson of Wann, Oklahoma, Greg (Bri) Wiles of Dallas, Texas; great grandchildren, Ani Rexwinkle, Emmalee and Tanner Dickson, Creighton, Reagen, Charlea and Quincee Wiles, Ella Grace (EG) Zschoche, Makenzi and Maci Bielfeldt and two great grandchildren arrivals expected soon; sister, Shirley Isnard of Coffeyville, Kansas; aunt, Nytee Smith of Hardy, Arkansas; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Imogene Wiles. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Allen Gillis, Dr. Anderson Mehrle, Dr. Barry Wesselowski, CRMC, Coffeyville Fire Department and EMS. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Fairview Cemetery Veterans Memorial Patio with Pastor Larry Wilkes of Coffeyville Bible Church officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to the Coffeyville Bible Church; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W.
