Richard M. "Dick" Tatman, 89, of Coffeyville passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. He was born on April 6, 1928, at Coffeyville to William Jennings and Marjorie Padie (Wise) Tatman. Dick spent his early years in Coffeyville where he attended school; he completed high school in El Paso, TX graduating from El Paso High School. Following high school he returned to Coffeyville and attended Coffeyville Junior College graduating in 1948. On August 29, 1948, Dick was united in marriage to Darlene Ruth Miller at Coffeyville. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville where Dick had accepted an apprenticeship to become a Pattern Maker at Ivan Morrow Foundry. They later moved to Blackwell, OK when Dick became manager of the pattern shop at Acme Foundry, after eight years they returned to Coffeyville in 1959 when Dick was named Foundry Manager at Acme, in 1987 he was named President of Acme Foundry. In 1988 the Tatman Family purchased Acme Foundry from Bob and Nancy Graham and merged Acme with Magic Circle Mfg. Co. Over the years the Tatman Family's involvement with Acme Foundry has grown to include several generations of the family. Dick was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Coffeyville, Keystone Masonic Lodge #102 A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite, York Rite, Mirza Temple in Pittsburg, was former President and Board Member of the American Foundry Society, Coffeyville Rotary Club, Mallard Club, Coffeyville Aviation Heritage Museum, U.S.D. #445 Board of Education, Condon National Bank Board of Directors, Coffeyville Country Club Board of Directors, and was an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed hunting and playing golf, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Darlene of the home; one daughter, Linda Ann Voss and husband, Carl of McAlester, OK; two sons, Thomas Allen "Tom" Tatman and wife, Melinda of Coffeyville and Richard James "Jim" Tatman and wife, Denise of Coffeyville; one half-sister, Sharon Flo Tatman-Russell of Coffeyville; seven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Gayle Tatman-Mansfield-Miller. A Memorial Service celebrating Dick's life will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2017, at the First Presbyterian Church in Coffeyville with Pastor Diane Massey officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Coffeyville Regional Medical Center Cancer Center, First Presbyterian Church or the Foundry Educational Foundation at Pittsburg State University; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W.
