Obituary of Charles Henry Holler

Charles “Chuck” H. Holler, Jr. age 76 of rural Coffeyville Kansas passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Montgomery Place in Independence, Kansas. 

 

Chuck was born on April 25, 1941 in Pittsburg, Kansas to Charles H. and Doris G. (Delaney) Holler, Sr.  He grew up in Leavenworth, Kansas where he earned his high school diploma.  He went on to attend classes at Coffeyville Community College.  Chuck proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

 

On August 20, 1966 he was married to Barbara Lang in Park Ridge, Illinois.  Chuck worked as a police office in Chicago, Illinois.  He was also a private detective and reserve police officer.  While in Coffeyville he worked in the heat treatment department for 30+ years at John Deere. 

 

Chuck was of the catholic faith.  He served as the president of Spring Hill Cemetery since 1975 and has been serving as active sexton for the past year.  His hobbies were watching FOX News, football and races on Sunday, computers, electronics, farming, hosting the holiday gatherings for his family and their well know New Year’s Day Open House.  He flew model airplanes and was a member of the Tornado Alley Model Aviators.  Most of all he loved the time he spent surrounded by his family and friends. 

 

Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Holler of the home; sons, Charles H. Holler, III of Coffeyville, Kansas, Donald (Laurie) Holler of Coffeyville, Kansas, Richard (SonyaLynn) Holler of Independence, Kansas; grandchildren, Justin Holler, Tanna Holler, Dawna Holler, Samantha Holler, Tabitha (Jeff) Moor, Joshua (Hannah) Holler and Michael Holler; seven great grandchildren; sister in law, Linda Holler of Indiana. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Doris Holler, Sr.; brothers, Jerry Lee Holler and Billy Joe Holler. 

 

Following Chuck’s wishes cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.  The family will have a celebration of Chuck’s life in a few weeks. 

 

The family suggests contributions can be made to either the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association; memorials can be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home 306 N Cline Rd, Coffeyville, and Kansas 67337.
