Coffeyville - Scott Michael Decker, 47, of rural South Coffeyville, OK passed away Saturday (July 8, 2006) at Jane Phillips Nowata Health Center in Nowata, OK. He was born July 29, 1958, at Hutchinson, Kansas to Paul and Irma (Richardson) Decker. He grew up in Kansas and Nebraska where he received his education, graduating from high school in Lincoln, Nebraska. Following high school he attended Coffeyville Community College. Scott was a veteran of the U.S. Army. After being honorably discharged he returned to Coffeyville. On May 3, 1980 he married Deborah Drake at Coffeyville. They were later divorced. He was involved in the construction business for many years and was the owner of Scott Decker Construction Company. Survivors include two daughters, Brooke Adams and Whitney Decker both of Fort Smith, Arkansas; his mother, Irma Decker of Denver, Colorado; his father and step-mother, Paul and Dorothy Decker of Coffeyville; 2 brothers, Rick Decker of Omaha, Nebraska, and Don Decker of Coffeyville; four sisters, Paula Decker of Denver, Colorado, Theresa Wells, Julie Schnoor and Debra Lieswalt all of Coffeyville and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Madison Decker on December 28, 2004. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday (July 13, 2006) in the First Presbyterian Church in Coffeyville with Pastor Larry W. Cracraft officiating. Burial will be in Mount Washington Cemetery in Lenapah, Oklahoma with military rites by the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville.
