Obituary of Henry Lee Acridge

Henry Lee Acridge of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Saturday, September 09, 2017 at St. Johns Medical Center in Tulsa. Henry was born on May 14, 1946 in rural Edna, Kansas to Chris and Ruby (Kimrey) Acridge. He grew up in Edna, Kansas where he received his high school diploma. On May 29, 1965 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Carol Sue Weimer in Coffeyville, Kansas. The couple made their home in Edna, Kansas where they raised their son. Henry worked as a machinist for Funk Manufacturing now known as John Deere for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed fishing, bird hunting and wood working. Most of all he loved the time he spent with his family and friends. Surviving to honor his memory are his loving wife, Carol of the home; son, Chris Acridge and wife, Chris of rural Coffeyville, Kansas; grandchildren, Stonewall Acridge, Bethany Shinkle and husband, Mike; brother, Robert Acridge and wife, Joan of Winfield, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Ruby. Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at North Edna Cemetery in Edna, Kansas. Chaplain Keith Springer will officiate. Friends may call on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. to sign the guest register at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas. Family will greet friends Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the Boy Scouts of America or to Operation Christmas Child and can be left at the funeral home or mailed in c/o David W.
