Obituary of Louise Swiger

Louise Swiger of Coffeyville, Kansas, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Feb. 2, 2018. Louise was born on January 8, 1929, to Joseph and Lucy Long Williams in Sulphur Springs, Arkansas. Louise graduated from Elk City High School. She married Harold Rupert Buzard in 1948 who passed in 1974. She married Harold Swiger in 1981 who preceeded her in death. She managed Winston Insurance agency for many years where she was honored with being named Secretary of the Year. In 1975 she obtained her real estate license and was an active Realtor and Associate Broker for 30 years. Louise loved and was loved by all of her family, but her legacy extended to her community because she lived the ethic of always giving back. She was an active, dedicated member to her Coffeyville First Baptist Church family where she belonged since 1948. She served her community as a volunteer in multiple ways. Most notably, in 2015 she received her 10 year certificate as an active CRMC Auxiliary volunteer. She had numerous friends and looked forward every week to the Saturday Canasta game and Domino night. She loved her Church, she loved the Auxiliary and she loved to read and sew. She was a gifted gardener and under her touch, anything grew. Louise is survived by her three daughters, "My Girls," of whom she was most proud: Sandra Harris (Jim) of San Antonio, Texas; Deborah Brown (Gary) of Kansas City, Missouri; and Susan Buzard of Coffeyville. She loved her five grandchildren, Jamey Cook (Jim), Chad Brown (Vickie), Angela Viets (Matt), Christopher Cornell, and Shane Roeder (Jessica) and 9 great grand children and one on the way this Spring. As one of 10 siblings, all of whom are now deceased, she had many nieces and nephews whom she loved. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center Auxiliary as Louise was especially proud of their accomplishments for the hospital. Memorials may be mailed or given to David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 N. Cline Road, Coffeyvillle, Kansas 67337. A celebration of life will be held at the First Baptist Church, Coffeyville, Kansas, at 1pm on Thursday, February 8, with Dr. J. Dean McNamara officiating. A reception will follow at the Church. All are welcome. The family extends a special thank you to the physicians and staff at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center for their excellent care and compassion shown to Louise and her daughters.
