Obituary of Karolyn S. Morris

Karolyn S. Morris, 59, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018 peacefully at her home. Karolyn was born on September 9, 1958 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Robert and Betty Jean (Dockins) Hanson. She grew up in Coffeyville where she graduated from Field Kindley High School. She went on to receive her Associates Degree from Coffeyville Community College and later went to Benz School of Floral Design at Texas A & M University. On August 28, 1976 she married the love of her life, Jeff Morris in Coffeyville, Kansas where the couple made their home. She spent her time taking care of their home and children. In 2004 Karolyn followed her passion for floral design and opened Village Floral and Gifts in Coffeyville; unfortunately she had to close the shop in 2006 due to her health. Karolyn was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, decorating, landscaping and her grandchildren. She loved the time she got to spend surrounded by her family and friends. Surviving to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Jeff of the home; children, Melissa Morris of Independence, Kansas, Nicholas Morris of Coffeyville, Kansas, Stephanie Morris of Parsons, Kansas; siblings, Debbie (Richard) Parsons of Olathe, Kansas, Cathy (Gail) Smith of Coffeyville, Kansas, Connie (Troy) Johnston of The Woodlands, Texas, Linda (Terry) Banzet of Forsyth, Missouri, and Cheryl Allen of Coffeyville, Kansas s; brother, Mike (Melissa) Allen of Coffeyville, Kansas, and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Hanson, her mother Betty Jean Allen and her son, Jeffery Ryan Morris. A Rosary Vigil Service will be at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Holy Name Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Holy Name Catholic Church with Father Daniel Lorimer officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to Holy Name Catholic Church; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
