Ruby Ella Vaughn known to many as "Mago", 77, of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at CRMC. Ruby was born on October 22, 1939 in Nowata County, Oklahoma to Allen Ephram Howard Wright and Norma Ellen (Smith) Wright. She attended Longfellow Elementary School, Wright School and Lenapah High School. She also attended Wright's Business College. On June 12, 1958 she married the love of her life, Lester Dale Vaughn, Sr. in Miami, Oklahoma. Ruby spent time as a farmer's wife helping Mr. Vaughn with the milk cows, pigs and chickens. For a time she worked at Parsons Ammunition Plant and for several years at Emmerson Electric doing quality control. Ruby was of the Pentecostal faith. Most often her time was spent "watching the boob tube and slingin' the yarn". She enjoyed playing games on the computer, crocheting and her dogs. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies of Liberty, Kansas and volunteered with the CRMC Auxiliary. Most of all she loved the time she spent surrounded by her family and friends. Surviving to honor her memory are her children, Leasa (James) Garoutte of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, Allen (Mary) Vaughn of Blair, Nebraska, Ruby Kristine (Stephen) Hogan of Coffeyville, Kansas; grandchildren, James R. (Melissa Frost) Garoutte III, Jonathan D. (Ralitsa) Garoutte, Krystal D. Garoutte, Brandon C. Vaughn, Andrew D. (Mullika) Vaughn, Marysa R. (Justin) Vaughn, Anna M. Vaughn, Caleb W. Vaughn, Micheal D. (Ashley) Gray, Patrick L. (Barbara) Gray; great grandchildren, James R. Garoutte IV, Makkiah M. Garoutte, Kurtis D. Garoutte, Amaryllis E. Garoutte, Gavin E. Oakley, J.A.C., Alyssa B. Gray, Hunter D. Gray, Carter M. Gray, Jacob L. Gray, Caleb L. Gray; brothers, Lloyd Wright, Steven Wright and Jimmy Wright; sister, Carmen Jo Alderman. In addition to her loving husband Lester Sr., she was preceded in death by her son, Lester "Lessie" Dale Vaughn, Jr.; daughter, Amy Rose Vaughn; brothers, Roger Wright, Daniel Wright and a great grandson, Micheal L. Gray. Per Ruby's wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will hold a Graveside Memorial Service on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Liberty Cemetery in Liberty, Kansas. The family suggests memorials to Coffeyville Friends of Animals or the American Cancer Society; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W.
