Nelda June Perkins, 76, of Buffalo, MO a longtime Coffeyville resident passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Buffalo Prairie Care Center in Buffalo, MO. She was born on August 19, 1940, at Coffeyville, KS to John and Jessie (Adams) Cessna. Nelda grew up and attended school in Coffeyville graduating from Field Kindley High School. Nelda married Irvin Haley, they were later divorced. She later married James Lilburn and they were divorced. On May 17 1985, she married Robert M. "Bob" Perkins at Coffeyville. Bob preceded her in death on July 20, 2006. Following Bob's death Nelda continued making her home in Coffeyville until moving to Lebanon, MO to be with her son, John and his family in October 2016. During her career Nelda worked as a waitress, was employed at Jolly Kids and Halliburton, she later was employed at the Adult Education Center. Nelda attended the First Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family especially her children and grandchildren. Survivors include one daughter, Ronda Clark-McDaniel and husband John of Ramona, OK; one son, John Lilburn and wife Julie of Lebanon, MO; one sister, Paula Stewart of Seligman, AZ, one aunt, Nellie Kloehr of Tulsa, OK; three grandchildren, Haley Barrett and husband Brett, Brock Clark and fiancé Anjela Kraft, and Andy Lilburn; and two great-grandchildren, Kolby Barrett and Kory Barrett. She was preceded in death by her parents and one great-grandchild, and three brothers, Bill Cessna, Joe Cessna, and Donnie Cessna. A Memorial Service Celebrating Nelda's life will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 17, 2017, at the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville with Dr. J. Dean McNamara officiating. Inurnment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park in Coffeyville. Friends may sign the register book on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church or Bennett Spring Christian Camp; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
