Clifford Walter Ashmore, 70, of Coffeyville passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017, at his home. He was born on July 25, 1947, at Little Rock, Arkansas to Walter and Vallie (Hayes) Ashmore. Clifford grew up and attended school in Scott, Arkansas, graduating from Scott High School. Following high school he attended Shorter College in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Clifford was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Marine Corp from January 2, 1968 until receiving his honorable discharge on July 18, 1969. Clifford was employed for many years with Johns Manville Company, after becoming disabled he drove a cab for several years. On April 25, 2005, he married Vicky Oldham in Allen, Texas. Following their marriage they made their home in Texas until moving to Coffeyville one and a half years ago. Clifford loved sports especially football and basketball, and especially loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Vicky of the home; one son, Reginald Ashmore of North Little Rock, Arkansas; two daughters; Catrece Davis of Marion, Arkansas, and Brandy Johnson of Dallas, TX; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Timothy Ashmore. A Memorial Service celebrating Clifford's life will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 10, 2017, at the Veterans Memorial Patio in Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Gary Gaither officiating.
