Obituary of Frederica P. Barnhart

Frederica "Fritzi" P. Barnhart, passed away on November 25, 2017 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville Oklahoma. She was 86. Fritzi was born on May 23, 1931 to Charles and Della Miller in Coffeyville Kansas. She attended Coffeyville area schools. She married Dallas Holder and they had three daughters. They owned and operated the Dalfritz Grill for several years and they later divorced. Fritzi began employment at the former Page Milk Company in Coffeyville where she met James LeRoy and were later married. Following the Page Milk closing, she continued employment at Carter Automotive and retired while working for Medicalodges Inc. in Coffeyville. James preceded her in death following her retirement. She later married Eugene "Gene" Barnhart on September 10th, 1994 and made their home in Coffeyville. Fritzi was a life long member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Coffeyville where she served on the Vestry, Alter Guild, ECW and worked in the Thrift Shop. Her hobbies included gardening and sewing. She enjoyed watching classic movies and football where she kept a notebook of games, quarterbacks and other stats. She was also a fan of KU Basketball. Fritzi was preceded in death by her husband Eugene, two brothers Charles and Jack Miller, one sister Carol Martin, and two daughters Gail Barnhart and Roxanna "Roxy" Junge. Survivors include her daughter Cindy Mecom and husband Bryan of Coffeyville KS, Son in Law Richard Junge of San Antonio TX, Step Son Jack Barnhart and wife Delores of Pomona KS, grandchildren Candice Bruce and husband Donald of Thousand Oaks CA, Joshua Mecom of Coffeyville KS, Miranda Gelven and husband Andy of St. Louis MO, Sarah Warren and husband R.J. of Belton MO, Jordan Mecom of San Francisco CA and 8 great - grandchildren. The family would suggest memorial donations to St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fritzi's name. Services will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Friday December 1st 2017, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
