Joyce Arlene (Coffey) Heacock, age 78, of Altamont, Kansas passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Labette Health in Parsons, Kansas. Joyce was born on December 22, 1943, in Coffeyville, Kansas to Raymond and Ethel (Ransom) Coffey. She attended Field Kinley High School in Coffeyville and graduated from Labette County High School in 1961. Joyce married Lyle Heacock on September 6, 1968. They made their home in Wichita, Kansas. In 1973, they moved to Coffeyville. Together they managed their business of Greenacres Mobile Home Park for 18 years. She was a life member of the Lowell school PTA. She, along with her sister-in-law Susie Coffey, organized and lead the First Baptist Church Brownie Troop 54. For many years, she organized and taught Bible School. In 1996, she was recognized by the First Baptist Church for her 23 years of Sunday School Service in the Nursery and Pre-School Department. She organized and taught Pre-School at the First Baptist Church with the support of Carolyn Muncy. Hobbies: Sewing clothes for herself and family, canning food from the family garden and orchard, creating rugs with latch-hook, painting many paint-by-number pictures, playing the piano for an audience of few, reading, crossword puzzles, hiking, fishing, and camping, babysitting, and growing African Violets. Collections: Coins, music boxes, bells, clown figurines, and commemorative plates. Surviving family: Husband Lyle Ray Heacock. Daughter Kimberly Kay Sherwood, husband Travis, and their children David, Robert, Joshua, Isaac & his wife Brook. Daughter Linda Lea Benning, husband Bryan, and their children Donovan & his wife Pauletta, Diamond & her husband Triston, Logan, Patricia, Brooke and Christopher. Great grandchildren: Laikyn and Jordan (David's), Parker and Melody (Isaac and Brook's), Alexander and Tahlia (Donovan and Pauletta's). Multiple nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents. brothers: Jack, Wayne, and Larry. sister: Kathy. granddaughter: Stephanie Ann. Cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. Services will be scheduled at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville; these may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home 306 N.
