Sedan - Clara L. Kent, 90, of Elgin, Kansas, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan, Kansas.
She was born February 10, 1921 in Red Rock, Oklahoma to Frank and Rhoda (Lawson) Driesel. She grew up and attended school in Red Rock, Oklahoma where she graduated from Red Rock High School.
On May 6, 1942 she married Clarence Raymond Kent in Sedan, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 1986. In 2000, she moved to Elgin from Denver, Colorado.
She enjoyed playing cards, flowers, and going fishing, and camping.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Charles H. Kent, one brother and one sister.
She is survived by three daughters, Betty D. Bartholomew of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Barbara J. Barker of Elgin, Kansas, and Linda Kent of Elgin, Kansas; two sons, Raymond F. Kent of Denver, Colorado and Gary L. Kent of Commerce City, Colorado; fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church on the Rock (401 S. Chautauqua) in Sedan, Kansas. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
