Coffeyville - Mary Margaret O'Meara Cillessen was born on August 8, 1913 to the late Dan and Clara E. (Miller) O'Meara in rural Liberty, Kansas. And our Lord took her home on March 27 after 97 years of life filled with love for her family, friends and flowers. She attended school in Liberty and graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School in Coffeyville, Kansas in 1932. She worked for Bruce-Moon Electrical as a bookkeeper. She married H. Francis Cillessen on September 8, 1941 at All Saints Catholic Church in Liberty. They moved immediately to Vallejo, California where Mr. Cillessen was employed as a machinist at Mare Island Navel Ship Yard. They returned to Coffeyville in 1946 where Mr. Cillessen worked for Farmland Industries Refinery as a machinist. Margaret worked at JC Penny from 1967 to 1979. She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and the Altar Society where she was the president in 1964. She is survived by three sons and their wives, Dan & Roxie Cillessen of Martell, Nebraska, Mike and Kaye Cillessen of Overland Park, Kansas and John & Paula Cillessen of Wichita, Kansas; two daughters-in-law Shirley Cillessen of Olathe, Kansas and Kathy Cillessen of Mulvane, Kansas; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. She was also survived by a sister, Mildred Hyatt of Coffeyville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis in 2006; two sons, Patrick in 1998 and Robert James in 2007; two brothers, William O'Meara of Richmond, California, and Raymond O'Meara of Coffeyville and one sister Eleanor Schell of Buena Park, California. A Rosary Vigil Service will be at 7:30 PM Tuesday, March 29, 2011at Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00AM Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Holy Name Catholic Church with Father Ben Nguyen officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family suggests memorials in lieu of flowers to the Holy Name School or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
