Coffeyville - Kandy K. Palmer, 40, of Mound Valley, passed away Monday, February 21, 2011, at Fredonia Regional Hospital, from injuries received in an automobile accident near Fredonia. Kandy was born May 12, 1970 at Wellingtion, to John and Betty (Jesseph) Sutton. She grew up in the Argonia area, where she attended school and graduated from Argonia High School. On July 9, 1990 she married Robert Palmer at Rural Edna. Following their marriage they made their home and raised their family in Labette County moving to Mound Valley thirteen years ago. Kandy was a member of the Mound Valley Baptist Church; she was also a member of the Mound Valley volunteer fire department; she enjoyed cooking, collecting willow tree angles and anything with John Deere; she was also very active in her son's school activities. Survivors include her husband, Robert of the home; one son, Blake of the home; her mother, Betty and step-father Lonnie Holley of Harper, KS; two brothers, Louis Sutton of Savannah, MO, and John Sutton of Summerville, SC; three sisters, Jo Marie Montemurno of North Mankato, MN, Cathy Sergo of Thorton, CO, and Saba Gregory of Newkirk, OK; one step-brother, Brian Holley of California; and one step-sister Wendy Saxton of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her father John Sutton and her son Briar Palmer. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2011 at the Parsons Municipal Auditorium, 112 South 17th St. Parsons, KS with Rev. Brett Rousselle and Rev. Travis Modesitt officiating. Burial will be in the Mound Valley Cemetery at Mound Valley, KS. Friends may call on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville; and Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Parsons Municipal Auditorium. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Mound Valley Baptist Church; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W.
