Obituary of Rita Misch

Coffeyville - Rita Marie Misch, age 92, died June 16, 2014. Mrs. Misch was born May 23, 1922 in Neodesha to Teresa Bodkin and Charles A Schabel. She graduated from Neodesha High school. She graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Independence, KS in 1943. She worked in various capacities through the years from administration to office nursing. She worked the last 18 years in public health at the Montgomery County Health Department in Coffeyville, retiring in 1994 at the age of 72. On June 15, 1966 she married H.J. Ellenberger in Neodesha, KS. He preceded her in death on February 8, 1972. On September 28, 1974 she married Frank Dexter Misch of Coffeyville. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2004. Mrs. Misch is survived by a sister Eileen Meadors of Midwest City, OK, sister-in-law Wanda Schabel and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, George Schabel and Robert Schabel. She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and Altar Society of Coffeyville. A Rosary Vigil Service will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville with Father Andrew Heiman officiating. Private family burial services will be at Neodesha Catholic Cemetery in Neodesha, KS. Friends may call on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
