Obituary of Joseph Aron Grant Bower

Sedan - Joseph Aron Grant Bower, age 34, of Sedan, passed away on Friday afternoon, January 8, 2009 at his residence in Sedan. He was born May 21, 1975 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Mary Spurlock. He attended school in Sedan and graduated from the Sedan High School in 1993. He lived in Sedan most of his life. He worked road construction for commercial contractors until he had to retire with disability after being injured. He loved kids and enjoyed making people laugh. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Mary and Bruce Lane of Sedan, Kansas; one sister, Tamara Wood of Midwest City, Oklahoma; and one brother, Clayton Bower of Yukon, Oklahoma; his step-parents, Larry and Linda Bower of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one step brother Ben Lane of Sedan, Kansas and one step sister Amber Lane also of Sedan, Kansas; his step- paternal grandparents, Jeana and Ronnie Paslay and nine nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Church of Christ with Pastor Joe Thomas officiating. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Friends may sign the register book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, January 12th to the 15th. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Head Injury Foundation and these remembrances may be left in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
