Obituary of David L. Halderman

Sedan - David Lee Halderman, 63, of Sedan, passed away Tuesday morning December 15, 2009 at the Sedan City Hospital in Sedan. He was born April 12, 1946 in Miller County, Missouri to Fritz R. and Emma (Davis) Halderman-Smith. He attended school in Coffeyville where he received his GED. He worked as a carpenter and mechanic his entire life before retiring earlier this year. On December 19, 1974 he married Margaret Deines in West Moreland, Kansas. They moved to Centralia, Kansas and they later moved to Sedan in 1975. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed fishing. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Halderman of the home in Sedan, Kansas; one step-daughter, Holli Eurepa; and nineteen brothers and sisters: Roy Halderman, Jessie Barnes, Minnie Martin, Alma Sanford, Geraldine Hasenbank, Lonnie Halderman, Larry Halderman, Stanley Halderman, Fritz Junior Halderman, Linda Ortiz, Johnnie McNown, Jimmie McNown, Debra Royal, Tammy Peffly, Debbie Flatt, Eddie Duerkson, Melvin Smith, Bonnie Lipke and Richard Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lorne Halderman. Private graveside services were held Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan, Kansas. The family suggests memorial contributions to the David L. Halderman Memorial Fund and these remembrances may be left in care of the funeral home at David W.
