Jane Clair (Singer) Reeves, 86, a resident of Port Orchard, Washington passed away while staying with her daughter after battling a terminal illness.
She was born on September 24, 1923 in Westfield, New Jersey to Fredrick B. and Marie T. (Shubert) Singer.
She grew up in Westfield, NJ and graduated from high school in June of 1941 and worked in New York City until she met Walter A. Reeves Jr. They were pin pals in high school and met face to face in New York when Mr. Reeves was joining the Coast Guard during World War II and months later were married on March 25, 1944 in Westfield, New Jersey. They lived in Independence, Kansas before moving to Port Orchard, Washington in 1967.
Survivors include her four children; Jane Culbertson of Cherryvale, Kansas, Patrick Reeves of Port Orchard, Washington, Walter A. Reeves III of Port Orchard, Washington, and Marcia Burnett of Norman, Oklahoma; two brothers, Herb Singer of New Jersey and Bobby Singer of North Carolina; six grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter A. Reeves Jr., one son, Jeffery L. Reeves, and her parents Fredrick and Marie Singer.
Cremation has taken place and the family will be having a memorial service in Washington at a later date.
