Lois Ann Lockaby, 68, went home to her Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 6, 2009.
Lois was born October, 20, 1941 at Coffeyville to James Walter and Birchie Pauline (Smith) Colquitt. She grew up and attended school in Coffeyville, when Lois was young her father passed away and she was raised by her mother and step-father, James Delk.
On March 14, 1959 Lois married John E. Lockaby at Coffeyville. Following their marriage they made their home in the Coffeyville area where Lois was a homemaker and loving pastors wife in their ministry with the Church of God, serving churches in Oklahoma, Parsons, KS, Coffeyville, and South Coffeyville.
Lois was a member of the Southview Church of God in South Coffeyville, OK where her husband has been pastor for the last 25 years. She ministered to many through her piano and singing. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Rev. John E. Lockaby of the home; one son, Mark Lockaby and wife Tracey of Coffeyville; two daughters, Colleen Hufferd and husband John of Coffeyville, and Angela Gray and husband Rev. Johnny Gray of Coffeyville; one sister, Alice Yates and husband Don of Coffeyville; eight grandchildren, Michelle Smith (Brandon), Nicole
McIntosh (Jason), Jonathan Hufferd, Heather Bowers (Nick), Haley Lockaby, Bradley Gray, Josh Gray, and Satara Gray; and four great-grandchildren, Hunter Mason, Chandler Mason, Emily McIntosh, and Jordan Bowers. She was preceded in death by her father, her mother and step-father, Birchie and James Delk and one son, Phillip Lockaby.
All of her family and Church family will miss her dearly, but we can all look forward to seeing her again when Jesus comes to get us!
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at the Southview Church of God, 326 State Line Rd, South Coffeyville, OK with Rev.'s Pamela Brewer and Linda Vance officiating. Burial will be in the Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville.
Friends may call on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Southview Church of God.
