Obituary of Archie Leach

Sedan - Archie T. Leach, 92, of Sedan, passed away Saturday morning December 5, 2009 at Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan. He was born September 22, 1917 at Sedan to Alfred Kent and Noda (Roberts) Leach. He grew up and attended school in Sedan graduating from Sedan High School. On November 28, 1934 he married Sarah Jane Muder at Sedan. They lived in Sedan most of their life, during World War II they lived in Pryor, OK, Yakima, WA and Cedar Vale, KS before returning to Sedan. Archie was employed for many years at Caney Valley Electric, he was self employed as a boot maker and shoe repair, and later worked at Kennedy Leather in Sedan. Archie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sedan, and former member of Sedan Country Club. He enjoyed golfing, and bowling, earlier in his life he enjoyed go carts and model airplanes. Survivors include his wife, Sarah of Sedan; two daughters, Norma Lee Leach of Sedan, and Margaret Jane Dexter of Winfield, KS; two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and one granddaughter. Services will be at 10:30 Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Sedan with Rev. Jerry Bever officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan.
