Betty L. Paige, 85, of rural Wann, OK, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville.
She was born December 20, 1928 at El Dorado, KS to Edward and Georgia (Epperson) Turner. Betty grew up and attended school in El Dorado.
On July 31, 1961 she married George Paige at Trenton, NJ. Following their marriage they made their home at several different locations in the United States where her husband was stationed while serving in the U.S. Army. While her husband made his career in Army Betty worked in schools on the bases they were stationed at. Following his retirement from the Army in 1978 they moved to the Noxie, OK area to be close to her parents. After moving to the Noxie area Betty worked as a Nurse's Aide at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center and Windsor Place where she made many strong bonds with staff members that still work there. She retired from her nursing work in 2001. Her husband preceded her in death in November 1994.
She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church near her home in Noxie. Betty enjoyed needlepoint, ceramics, antiquing. But most of all she loved helping others, her dogs, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include one son, Mark Paige and wife Lisa of rural Wann, OK; and one grandson, Jaxon Paige of rural Wann, OK.
Graveside Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2014 at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville with Rev. John Wilson of the First Presbyterian Church in Independence officiating.
Friends may call on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to Coffeyville Friends of Animals or the Alzheimer's Association; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
