Leslie L. "Les" Wilson, 71, of Dearing, passed away Monday, December 1, 2009 at his home in Dearing.
He was born November 9, 1938 at Fairview, OK, to Earl and Marie (Pharis) Wilson. He grew up and attended school in the Fairview area.
In 1955 he married Bernice Jean Smith at Wallace, Idaho. They were later divorced.
Les lived in several states including, Texas, Colorado, Idaho, and California, where he worked as a police man and later owned a Motor Home Repair business in California before moving to Dearing in 1981after becoming disabled.
On November 6, 1982, he married Pam (Morris) Stoddard at Dearing. Following their marriage they made their home in Dearing.
He was a member of the Tyro Christian Church in Tyro, and former member of the Dearing Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Pam of the home; two sons, Johnny Wilson and wife Lisa of Irvine, CA, and Chet Wilson and wife Rhonda of Coffeyville; four daughters, Debbie Bond and husband Paul of Fernley, NV, Jeanette Gardner and husband David of Coffeyville, Kristy Newcomb and husband David of Covington, WA, and Anna Cox and husband Darryl of Dearing; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2009 at the Tyro Christian Church with David Bycroft and Mike Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville.
Friends may call on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
