Coffeyville - Ronald W. Blackburn, 67, of Dearing passed away Monday, December 1, 2009 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. He was born March 28, 1942 at Alluwe, OK to Edward and Ruby Maxine (Clark) Blackburn. He grew up in the Jefferson, KS area and graduated from Wayside High School. Mr. Blackburn was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Army. On June 23, 2969 he married Carol A. Bass at Dearing. Following their marriage they made their home in the area, and had lived in Dearing since 1980. Mr. Blackburn was employed with Wal-Mart. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Coffeyville. Survivors include his wife, Carol of the home; one daughter, Teresa Diseker of Ft. Worth, TX; one son David Blackburn of Wichita; two brothers, Don Blackburn of Wann, OK, and Howard Blackburn of Copan, OK; one sister, Patsy McCreath of Santa Fe, TX; and four grandchildren, Joey and Clare Diseker, and Darian and Haven Blackburn. A Memorial Service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the First Southern Baptist Church, 2701 West 8th St. in Coffeyville with Rev. James Riekeman officiating. Friends may sign the register book on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. Cremation will take place. The family suggests memorials to the First Southern Baptist Church; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W.
