Obituary of John Felton

Coffeyville - Johnny K. Felton, 73, of South Coffeyville, OK, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. He was born September 29, 1936 in South Coffeyville, OK to Roy and Ruby (Jordan) Felton. John grew up and attended grade school in South Coffeyville, and completed his education at Lenapah High School in Lenapah, OK. John was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army from March 1959 to February 1961. On March 17, 1962 he married Charlotte McRay at Independence. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville and South Coffeyville where John was an automotive mechanic. He was a member of the American Legion, in his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte of the home; one son, Carl Felton of Coffeyville; three grandchildren, Crystal Felton of Independence, John Michael Felton of Independence, and Andy Felton of Coffeyville; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother. Friends may call on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
