Obituary of Betty Jean Yadon

Sedan - Betty Jean Yadon, age 74, of Sedan, Kansas passed away Thursday, December 27, 2007 in the loving arms of her family at the Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan. She was born on October 29, 1933 in Greenville, Illinois to James Thomas McElroy Sr. and Laura Frances McElroy. She was the youngest daughter of seven children. She attended school in Salem, Illinois. She married Arthur Yadon on August 20, 1981 in Arkansas City, Kansas. After their marriage, they lived in rural Chautauqua County and the last fifteen years in the city of Sedan. She was a homemaker and worked at the Sedan movie theatre and Shares Colorado. She was also a member of the Church of Christ of Sedan. She was a loving wife, mother and a friend to all. She was the mother of eight children, twenty-three grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Arthur Yadon of Sedan, Kansas; children Brenda Collins of Bakersfield, California, Randall Holland I of LaPort, Indiana, Ronald Holland Sr. of Hobart, Indiana, Rebecca Holland of Sedan, Kansas, Tim Yadon of Hobart, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James McElroy Jr.; her sons, Billy and James Holland and her daughter Eula Faye Graham. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, December 30, 2007 at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 31, 2007 at the Church of Christ in Sedan, Kansas with Joe Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan, Kansas. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Pleasant Valley Manor or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and these remembrances may be left in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N.
