Mary Elizabeth Garretson, 87, of Coffeyville passed away Sunday, October 11, 2009 at Windsor Place.
She was born January 27, 1922 at Lenapah, OK to James Taylor and Lucy Marie (Peyton) Bartlett. When she was young her family moved to the Liberty, KS area where she grew up and attended school.
She married Kenneth Garretson and he preceded her in death. She later married Jack Lollar and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Kay Witwer and Darlene Alloway both of Coffeyville; two sisters, Dolly Emerick of Hollywood, CA, and Rosie Garretson of Coffeyville, one step-sister, Helen Love-McDill of South Coffeyville, OK, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, one sister, Marie Emerick, two step-sisters, and three step-brothers.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2009 in the Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville with Rev. Gerald Morris pastor of Grace Fellowship officiating.
Friends may call until 9:00 p.m. tonight at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to the Salvation Army, contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
