Christy (Conklin) Keefer, 58, of Tulsa, OK, formerly of Coffeyville, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2013, at her home.
She was born November 15, 1955, at Pueblo, CO to John Richard "Dick" and Dorothy (Wolfe) Conklin. Christy grew up and attended grade school in Pueblo, moving to Coffeyville with her family when she was in high school. She graduated from Field Kindley High School and Coffeyville Community College.
On December 17, 1977, she married Michael Harrison in Coffeyville. They had two sons, Christopher Michael and John Arthur. They divorced in 1992.
On November 8, 2008, she married Floyd Keefer at Tulsa. Following their marriage they continued to make their home in Tulsa.
Christy worked in retail sales for many years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and loved spending time with her family especially her sons, Christopher Michael and John Arthur, and her dog Buster. Christy enjoyed shopping, decorating, and playing tennis. She was a kindhearted and strong-minded woman, fighting her battle against cancer with dignity and optimism.
Survivors include her husband, Floyd Keefer of the home; two sons, Christopher Michael Harrison, and John Arthur Harrison both of Tulsa; two step-sons, Kevin Keefer, and Mark Keefer both of Enid, her parents, Dick and Dorothy Conklin of Coffeyville; and one sister, Kay Meek and her husband Ken of Bartlesville, OK; and a nephew, Sam Meek and his wife Sooyoung of Augsburg, Germany
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 26, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in Coffeyville. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park.
Friends may call on Monday, December 23, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, December 24, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
The family suggests memorials in Christy's memory to Susan G. Komen for the Cure; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Hone, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
