Carolyn Elizabeth Holt, 63, of rural Wann, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at her home.
She was born on May 15, 1944 in Oilton, Oklahoma to Carl and Mary (Frailey) Wheeler. When she was young she moved with her family to the Lenapah, OK area where she grew up and attended school graduating from Lenapah High School.
On June 3, 1961, she married Gerald Lee "Jerry" Holt in Independence, Kansas. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville, and South Coffeyville before moving to their home in rural Wann in 1989. Jerry preceded her in death on September 30, 2007.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma.
Survivors include one daughter, Anita Holt, of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma; one son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Chris Holt, of rural South Coffeyville, Oklahoma; one sister, Wanda Cook of Oilton, Oklahoma; and three grandchildren, Tara Holt and Josh Holt of rural South Coffeyville, and Faith Graue of South Coffeyville;. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday (December 29, 2007) in Fairview Cemetery with Reverend Fred Lamb officiating.
Friends may call on Friday until 9:00 p.m. to sign the register book at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The casket will be closed.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be given in her name to an educational fund being established for her grandchildren; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, Kansas 67337.
