Betty Jeane Stiles, age 78, of Sedan, Kansas passed away Monday, September 21, 2009 at her residence in Sedan, Kansas.
She was born March 7, 1931 in Oglesby, Oklahoma to Frederick Eugene and Mary Ethel (Dowdy) Stiles. She attended school at Ramona, Oklahoma, graduating from Ramona High School. Following high school she received an Associate's Degree. In May of 1948 she married William Edward Bailey in Oglesby, Oklahoma. They later divorced. She worked on the assembly line at ACC in Independence, Ks and worked in Bentonville, Arkansas before her retirement. On May 3, 1974 she married Robert Bush and helped raise his two daughters and one son. They later divorced.
She lived in Neosho, Missouri before moving to Sedan in January of 2009. She was a member of the Neosho Baptist Church in Neosho. She loved music and was a guitar player and played in several bands making money on the weekends. She also loved recording her music, raising guppies, and going to church.
She is survived by two sons; Bill and wife Linda Bailey of Sedan, KS and Paul and wife Peggy Bailey of Neosho, Missouri, one daughter; Ethelda and husband Richard Burkhart of Neosho, Missouri, three step-children; Martha Campbell of Skiatook, Oklahoma, Bobby Bush of Neosho, Missouri and Patty Stoutsenburger of Wyandotte, Oklahoma, one brother; Roger and wife Angelita Stiles of Bella Vista, Arkansas, sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Claude Stiles.
Family and friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan, Kansas.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the Peru Cemetery in Peru, Kansas with Reverend Bill Long officiating.
