Sedan - Anna Jean McCormac, age 86, of Sedan, Kansas passed away Saturday evening September 19, 2008 at the Sedan City Hospital in Sedan, Kansas. She was born July 17, 1923 in Chautauqua, Kansas to Joseph Franklin and Bessie (Dyer) Jones. She attended and graduated from Chautauqua High School. She worked at the clothing factory in Pawhuska, Oklahoma for many years as a sewing machine operator. She married William Niblack and they had two sons, Billy Gene and Arthur Dean Niblack, which both died at a very young age. They later divorced in 1969. On February 17, 1970 she married John McCormac in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Years later they moved to Pleasant Valley Manor. John went home to be with the Lord on March 17, 2000. Anna remained at her home at Pleasant Valley Manor with all of her friends and caregivers. She at sometime or other gave them all a bad time but all at the same time she loved them as they did her. They were all family to her. She is survived by three stepdaughters, and several nieces and nephews, and all of her caregivers and friends at Pleasant Valley Manor. She loved sewing and loved playing bingo with her friends. She was preceded in death by her two sons, Billy Gene and Arthur Dean Niblack, her parents, husband John McCormac, three brothers, two sisters, two nephews, two stepdaughters, and two stepsons. Family and friends may call Monday, September 21, 2009 from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, September 22, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan, Kansas. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Chautauqua, Kansas with Earl Tresner officiating. The family has suggested memorials to the Pleasant Valley Manor and they can be left in care of the David W. Barnes Funeral Home 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
