Warren D. Heady, 64, of South Coffeyville, OK, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2009 at his home.
He was born June 28, 1945 in Coffeyville to Warren G. and Ruby (Pierce) Heady. He grew up in Coffeyville where he attended Holy Name Catholic School, Field Kindley High School and Coffeyville Community College. He joined the Army National Guard on January 24, 1966 serving in the HHC 174th Sup & Svc B in Coffeyville until receiving his Honorable Discharge on January 23, 1972.
On February 28, 1975 he married Margie Thompson at Miami, OK. Following their marriage they made their home in the Coffeyville and South Coffeyville area. Warren was a Supervisor at American Insulated Wire.
Warren had attended Holy Name Catholic Church. He loved spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, training bird dogs, and attending field trials with the dogs he trained.
Survivors include his wife, Margie of the home; one son, Darren Heady and wife Cathey of Coffeyville; his mother, Ruby Heady of Coffeyville; one brother, Bill Heady of Wichita; two sisters, Susan McCool and husband Bill of Tulsa, and Debbie Ott of Bristow, OK; and four grandchildren, Kyle, Audra, Lydia, and Julia all of Coffeyville. He was preceded in death by his father.
Graveside Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2009 at the Keeton Ranch southeast of Valeda, KS, with Reverend Wayne Martin of Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church officiating.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
