Sedan - Treva M. White, 91, of Cedar Vale, Kansas, died Monday (December 16, 2013) at the Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan.
She was born April 10, 1922 in rural Cedar Vale, Kansas to O.C. Sartin and Anna Belle (Cloyd) Sartin. She grew up in the Cedar Vale area attending country school and later graduating from Cedar Vale High School. She attended Independence Community College after high school.
On December 20, 1941 she married Frank White Sr. in Columbus, Kansas. They lived in Corpus Christi, Texas, Manhattan, Kansas and Alma, Kansas before coming back to their farm in rural Cedar Vale. They farmed and raised many dairy cattle for many years and milked over 100 cows year round. Treva and her husband were both very involved with the Associated Milk Producers Association and traveled to many of the meetings. They retired from the farm in 1997. She was preceded in death by her husband on November 10, 2002.
Treva was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cedar Vale. She was an avid Kansas State fan, loved to sew, and made suits for her boys and husband.
Survivors include one daughter; Cheryl Raborn and husband Glen of rural Junction City, Kansas; two sons, Robert White and wife Peg of Wolfe City, Texas and Frank White Jr. and wife Linda of Hesston, Kansas; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, one brother, and her parents.
Services will be held Monday, December 23, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Cedar Vale with Reverend Mark Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the Cedar Vale Cemetery in Cedar Vale, Kansas.
Friends may call on Monday, December 23, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the First Baptist Church in Cedar Vale, Kansas.
The family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church of Cedar Vale and the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and contributions may be left in care of the David W. Barnes Funeral Home 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
