Jack Edward Kasney Jr., age 56, of Elgin, Kansas passed away Sunday, August 2, 2009 at his home in Elgin.
Jack was born January 16, 1953 in Ulysses, Kansas to Jack E. Kasney Sr. and Virginia L. (Chance) Kasney. He grew up in Maize, Kansas before graduating from Maize High School. He later attended Wichita State University. He worked for Utility Contractors, Incorporated for over twenty-five years as a foreman. On June 16, 2000 he married Gay Caldwell, his childhood sweetheart, in Maize, Kansas. They moved to Sedan, Kansas and then in 2001 bought a house in Elgin, Kansas where they have lived happily for the last eight years.
His passions were spending time with his wife and family, eating Mexican food, hunting, fishing, gardening, canning and especially loved his Chihuahua "Angel".
He is survived by his wife Gay Kasney of the home in Elgin, Kansas; three daughters, Virginia Turbovich and Melissa "Jean" Kasney and step-daughter Krista Mann; two sons, Jack Edward Kasney III and step-son Jason Lee; one brother, John Kasney; one sister, Sue Valle and eighteen grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Kasney, Sr., and Virginia Kasney.
Cremation has taken place and a private family and friend service will be held at a later date.
