Coffeyville -
Hazel Aline Stark, 87, of Coffeyville, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2009, at Windsor Place in Coffeyville.
She was born September 3, 1921 at Coffeyville to Charles H. and Ada (Martin) Brown. She grew up in the Coffeyville and South Coffeyville area where she received her education.
During World War II she was a welder in the shipyards in California.
She married Clyde Collins and they were later divorced.
On December 27 1952 she married Arthur Lowell Stark, Sr. at Eureka Springs, AR. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville. Mr. Stark preceded her in death on January 12, 1997.
Hazel worked for many years at Continental Can in Coffeyville, and Emerson Electric at Independence retiring in 1985.
She was a past member of the Eagles Lodge and V.F.W. Auxiliary,
Survivors include her five children, Bill Collins of South Coffeyville, OK, Carolyn Howard of Coffeyville, Virginia Allison of Independence, Arthur Lowell Stark, Jr. of Coffeyville, and Stephen W. Stark of Mission, KS; one brother, Jim Brown of Nowata, OK; one sister, Betty Edwards of Kansas City, MO; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and one sister.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the Veterans Memorial Patio in Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville, with Pastor Mark Wilson of the First Church of God officiating.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
