Sedan - Geneva Emma Grunden, age 93, of Coffeyville, Kansas went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 18, 2009 at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. She was born April 21, 1915 in Cedar Vale, Kansas, the daughter of Hershel and Mollie Cole. She was united in marriage to James E. Grunden June 20, 1932 in Winfield, Kansas. She was a member of the Chautauqua Southern Baptist Church. She is survived by daughters Irene Anderson of Wichita, Kansas, Naomi Howell of Vancouver, Washington, Marie Sembera of Coffeyville, Kansas; a niece, Barbara Halligan of Elgin, Kansas; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband James on December 6, 1995. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan with the Reverend Kevin Fogerty of the Chautauqua Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Cedar Vale Cemetery. The family has suggested memorials to the Salvation Army and these remembrances may be left in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
