Sharon Kay Henry, 65, of Parsons formerly of the Edna and Valeda area, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at her home in Parsons.
She was born November 18, 1943 in Labette County to James Ernest and Ida May (Gregory) Henry. She grew up in the Edna and Valeda area where she attended Blackford Grade School, and later attended the special education program at McKinley School in Coffeyville. Sharon moved to Parsons in 1982.
After moving to Parsons, Sharon worked in the sheltered workshop at Class Limited and in Food Service at the Wal-Mart Store.
She attended the Nazarene Church in Parsons, and enjoyed sewing, needlework, crafts, and computers. Sharon won several awards for her sewing and needlework.
Survivors include one brother, Donald E. Henry of Neodesha; and two sisters, Charlotte J. White and husband Dan of Coffeyville, and Betty Jean White and husband Larry of Coffeyville. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, August Henry, and Jimmy Henry; and two sisters, Thelma Mantooth, and Juanita VanTeighen.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2009 in the First Assembly of God in Coffeyville is Pastor Randy DePriest officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville.
Friends may call today until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
