Isaac "Duke" Robinson, age 70, of Edna passed away at his home Wednesday, March 25.
He was born on August 10, 1938 in Woodside, Louisiana to Charley and Elizabeth (Williams) Robinson. He graduated from Dunbar High School in Simmsport, Louisiana and then went on to Southern University in Baton Rouge, Lousiana.
Isaac has lived in the Coffeyville area since 1963 where he worked in heavy construction and for Funk Manufacturing Company and has been involved in the Greater Union Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and was the superintendent of the Sunday School. He was always up for a fishing trip and loved to go to church.
On May 16, 1980 Isaac was married to Susanne Moore in Coffeyville. She survives him.
Other survivors include two sons, Ira (Danielle) Allen of Wichita, KS and Robin (Melissa) Moore of Edna, KS; three brothers, Earl Robinson of Simmsport, LA, Wilson Robinson of Coffeyville, KS, and Sam Robinson of Wichita, KS; one sister, Louvenia Vaughn of Woodside, LA; and four grandchildren. He has been preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be Wednesday, April 1 at 1:00pm at the Greater Union Missionary Baptist Church located at 900 Delaware Street in Coffeyville. Reverend Gary Lane will officiate and burial will follow in the North Edna Cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday, March 31 between 9:00am and 9:00pm at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends from 7:00pm - 8:30pm at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial to the Duke Robinson Memorial Fund. Contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 N. Cline Rd., Coffeyville, KS 67337.
