Coffeyville - Mary Ann Morris, of Coffeyville passed away at her home Tuesday morning. She was 81 years of age.
She was born on July 20, 1927 in Tulsa, OK to Sam and Margaret (Andres) Morris. Mary grew up in Coffeyville where she attended Holy Name Catholic School and Field Kindley Memorial High School.
On August 14, 1943 Mary was married to Roy Morris. They started their lives together in Coffeyville where they raised their four children. Roy passed away March 12, 1997.
Mary was a telephone operator during World War II while her husband Roy was on active duty. From 1972 until 1997 she worked at Scarlet's Hallmark store in Coffeyville.
She was a member of the Holy Name Altar Society and enjoyed meeting her friends for coffee at Shirley's. Mary was a grandmother to eight children and a great-grandmother to eight more whom she loved very much.
She is survived by her two daughters, Diana Robey of Tulsa, OK and Karen Goss of Coffeyville; two sons, Danny L. (Deborah) Morris of Ames, Iowa and Jeff L. (Karolyn) Morris of Coffeyville; one brother, Sam L. Morris of Parsons, KS; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Her parents, three sisters, and one grandchild have preceded her in death.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville on Saturday, March 28 at 10:00am with Fr. Ben Nguyen officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
A Rosary Vigil Service will take place Friday evening (March 27) at 6:00pm.
Mary's family suggests memorials be donated to Holy Name Catholic Church. Contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 N. Cline Rd., Coffeyville, KS 67337.
