Obituary of Florence Louise Buck

Sedan - Florence Louise Buck, age 63, of Sedan passed away Sunday, February 22, 2009 at the Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan, Kansas. She was born March 20, 1945 in Sedan, Kansas to James "Pete" and Bernice (Cornelsen) Slaughter. She attended school in Iola before graduating from Leon High School in Leon, Kansas. On September 8, 1967 she married Carl Buck. In the summer of 2004 they came to Sedan from Iola. Mr. Buck preceded her in death in 2004. She worked as a Certified Nurse's aide at nursing homes before moving to Sedan. She was a member of the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed needle point crafts and genealogy. She is survived by one sister, Ilene Kingsley of Elgin, Kansas; One brother, Jim Slaughter of Pratt, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Buck and her parents. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home of Sedan. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at the Elgin Cemetery in Elgin, Kansas with Hospice Chaplain Mike Graham of Coffeyville, Kansas officiating. The family has suggested memorial contributions to Pleasant Valley Manor or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and these remembrances may be left in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N.
