Blossom D. Fine, age 94, of Sedan, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan, Kansas.
She was born November 11, 1914 in Rural Chautauqua County, Kansas to Clarence and Nina (Leonard) Wallace. She grew up and attended the Fowler school south of Sedan until the eighth grade. She married Ray Fine on November 23, 1932 in Independence, Kansas. He preceded her in death on February 9, 1980.
She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and working at the cemetery. She loved her cats and dogs.
She is survived by one son, Jim Fine and wife Janice of Sedan, Kansas; one brother, Dale and wife Clara Belle Wallace of Sedan, Kansas and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray; one son, Ray Fine Jr.; two brothers, Earl and Ray Fine and two sisters, Inez McAfee and Altie Thorn.
Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, February 20, 2009 at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home of Sedan.
Gravesides services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2009 at the Greenwood Cemetery with Hospice Chaplain Mike Graham officiating.
The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Pleasant Valley Manor Nursing Home or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and these remembrances may be left in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
