Coffeyville - Phyllis Virginia Wellington Zimmerman Endicott, 77, of Coffeyville entered into eternal rest on on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, OK. She was born in Coffeyville on March 28, 1931 to W.B. "Bill" and Mildred (Beck) Wellington. She attended Coffeyville Schools graduating in 1949 from Field Kindley Memorial High School, where she was a member of the Drum and Bugle Corps. After graduation she went to work for S.H. Kress briefly before beginning as a Switchboard Operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She was Assistant Chief Operator when the Coffeyville office closed and was transferred to the Traffic Department with SWBC, she retired in 1980. After retirement she worked briefly at Halliburton Services, In recent years she worked part time for B & K Flea Market and The Wishing Well. She was a member of the Pioneer Chapter of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company retired employees, the American Legion Auxiliary and V.F.W. Auxiliary On December 9, 1949 she married Earl Wayne "Zip" Zimmerman. To this union two children were born. They were divorced in 1968. On December 24, 1971 she married Kenneth Eugene Endicott who preceded her in death on November 24, 1994. Phyllis was preceded in death by her father, her mother, three brothers, Earl Wellington, and Clyde Wellington both of Coffeyville, and Dean Wellington of Ada, Oklahoma. She is survived by one son, Phillip D. Zimmerman of Coffeyville; one daughter, Gretchen Ann (Zimmerman) Rutherford of Coffeyville; six grandchildren, Jason (Carmen) Zimmerman, Todd (Sara) Zimmerman, Edward Ray (Ashley) Rutherford, II, Matthew Zimmerman and fiance Kendra Walters, Renee Rutherford and fiance John Keylon, Rachelle "Chelly" (Michael) McCullough; eight great-grandchildren, RaeAnna Rutherford-Madl, Kelsey Keylon, Tamera McCullough, Tyler Zimmerman, Michael McCullough II, Tiana McCullough, Chloe Keylon, and Emma Zimmerman, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville with Dr. Wayne Norton officiating. Burial will follow in Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville. Friends may call on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Rd., Coffeyville, KS 67337
