Irene Marie Jerome, 95, of Coffeyville, formerly of Wichita, KS, passed away Friday, January 23, 2009 at Medicalodge in Coffeyville.
She was born November 26, 1913 at Orlando, Oklahoma to William and Mary (Seeliger) Beutow. She grew up and attended school in Orlando graduating from Orlando High School.
On November 27, 1939 she married Dale F. Jerome at Orlando, OK. Following their marriage they made their home in Wichita. Mr. Jerome preceded her in death in 1989. Mrs. Jerome continued making her home in Wichita until moving to Coffeyville in 1993 to be closer to her brothers.
Irene was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Coffeyville. She was a talented seamstress and cook, she enjoyed watching basketball games especially the University of Kansas.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Neila Beutow-Herold and husband Henry of rural Edna, and Willa Mae Kanell of Mannford, OK; one brother-in-law, Charles Jerome of Edmond, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three brothers, Herb Beutow, Charles Beutow, and Wilbur Beutow; and one sister Edna Jones.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Coffeyville with Rev. Richard Peckman officiating. Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday in Wichita Park Cemetery in Wichita.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
