Obituary of Vicky Bruce

Coffeyville - Vicky Louise (Bradshaw) Bruce, 70, of Coffeyville, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, OK. She was born August 5, 1938 in Nowata County, Oklahoma to Leonard and Lora Louise (Brown) Bradshaw. She grew up and attended school in the Coffeyville area. In 1954, she married Gail King and to this union four children were born. In 1967, she married Greg Buie and to this union she had four children. In 1983, she married Donald Bruce who preceded her in death. She lived in Coffeyville, Kansas most of her life. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and especially her dogs. She is survived by two sons Vick King of Coffeyville, Kansas and Todd Buie of Bald Knob, Arkansas; five daughters, Tammy Benson of Wann, Oklahoma, Lora Kelley of Welch, Oklahoma, Debra Smithson and Shelly Johnson, both of Bald Knob, Arkansas and Gretta Cantrell of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma; four step-children, Kathy King and Anthony Bruce, both of Coffeyville, Kansas and Donald and Brian Bruce, both of Kansas City, Kansas.. She was blessed with twenty-two grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald Bruce and one son, Tony King. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, January 16, 2009 at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas with Gary Stevens officiating. After the service, friends are welcome to gather at the Cherokee Nation Building, located at 215 Oklahoma Street in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, to have lunch and visit with the family. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Coffeyville Friends of Animals and these remembrances may be left in care of David W.
