Coffeyville - Bernard K. Hyde, age 67, of Coffeyville passed away on January 10 at his home with his family at his side. Bernard was born on May 9, 1941 in Endicott, New York to Bernard L. and Laura H. (Downey) Hyde. He attend school at Leroy Central in Leroy, New York. He was in the Army from October of 1960 until October 1963. On July 10, 1965, Bernard married Sharon Ehrhart at Leroy, New York. She survives him. Bernard and Sharon lived in Batavia, New York. In 1979 they moved to Coffeyville, where he worked at Gibson's and Wal-Mart. Following his retirement he worked as a computer technician. He was a member of the Lewark Church of God, Masonic Lodge of Edna, and American Bowling Association. He was very inolved with his family and friends and enjoyed frequenting flea markets and auctions. He is survived by his wife Sharon of the home; one son, Ronald Hyde of the home; two daughters, Yvonne (Buel) Hoenshell of Coffeyville, Kansas and Cristal (Levent) Uluer of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; two brothers, Carl L.(Cathy) Hyde of East Bethany, New York and David B. (Bev) Hyde of Batavia, New York; one sister, Denise (Art) Hamel of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Erin Titus, Hali Titus, Brandon Hyde and Dakota Hoenshell; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to a education fund for his grandchildren; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 N. Cline Rd., Coffeyville, KS 67337. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2009 at the Lewark Church of God with Pastor Josh Thayer and Pastor J.D. Wright officiating.
